What is a T5 fluorescent lamp?
In the 1990s, T5 lamps were introduced. These are smaller than traditional T8 or T12 lamps allowing them to be fitted into the tightest of spaces. The smaller light source enables more accurate control of beam direction by means of optics. T5 lamps have the added benefits of using fewer materials in manufacture and have greater energy savings over traditional T12/T8 lamps.
Which T5 Lamps do Chalmor supply?
Watt-Miser™ linear fluorescent lamps
T5 Watt-Miser™ lamps are triphosphor fluorescent lamps for indoor applications. These lamps offer significant energy savings over other T5 linear fluorescent lamps.
T5 Watt-Miser™ lamps consume 5% less energy compared with today’s T5 lamps, without compromising lumen output, and have a 25,000 hours average lamp life.
T5 lamps are optimized to higher ambient temperature than T8 lamps, offering up to 111lm/W luminous efficacy. The peak lumen output can be reached at approximately 35°C.
The elevated optimum temperature results in additional energy saving compared to T8 lamps in typical indoor lighting applications.

Starcoat™ T5 High Efficiency Lamps
The High Efficiency range of Starcoat™ T5 brings lumen efficacy to over 100 lm/W. Combined with an average 20,000 hours lamp life; this range of lamps is ideally suited to commercial and retail application in both direct and combined direct/indirect luminaires.

Starcoat™ T5 High Output Lamps
The extremely high surface illuminance of the High Output Starcoat™ T5 range makes these lamps ideal for indirect luminaires. They also benefit from an average 20,000 hours lamp life. This type of lamp is the best suited to uplighting systems or direct lighting in high ceilings applications, such as those in canopies or industrial situations.

PREMIUM LONG LIFE fluorescent lamps
PREMIUM is a new designed high-quality tri-phosphor long life fluorescent lamp. The PREMIUM offers a service life of 36,000 hours when operated with the specifically defined electronic ballasts.

SUPREME HO LONG LIFE fluorescent lamps
The SUPREME High Output is a Long Life fluorescent lamp with a three times longer service life than standard T5 HO lamps. With its average service life of 48,000 hours they are the perfect solution when you need the energy saving and system miniaturisation characteristics of a T5 lamp with the high lumen package of HO in high ceiling applications.
