Chalmor Limited who are based in Luton, Bedfordshire, design, manufacture, supply, install and support energy efficient lighting, heating, ventilation and office equipment, including intelligent energy saving controllers and sensors. Chalmor Limited is committed to minimising its environmental impacts and to improving the local, national and global environment.
As a company and employer, Chalmor Limited therefore aims to:
• take account of environmental factors in all company decisions;
• to maintain compliance with relevant environmental legislation, regulations, Approved Codes of Practice (ACOP’s) and other requirements which relate to the Company;
• to continually improve environmental performance and prevent pollution minimising waste, with emphasis on reduction and recycling
• use goods, materials and services locally in order to minimise transportation impacts and to support local economies;
• plan and execute company operations to minimise travel and other environmentally damaging activities;
• work with contractors and suppliers to help improve their environmental performance and do all we can to ensure that they apply environmental standards at least as high as our own;
• send correspondence, letters, quotations, reports electronically where this will reduce the
environmental impact of paper use;
• raise awareness of environmental considerations and encourage good practice;
• set and monitor objectives, and where necessary, modify through Management review. These objectives may include specific targets for measurable elements of the Company’s activities, or be project based within specific target dates.
• communicate to all staff though the company intranet, staff bulletins, meetings and training sessions
• ensure our policy is widely communicated to all staff, contractors and suppliers;
• review this policy regularly and update or amend it when necessary.
• promote its objectives internally or externally where appropriate, and will respond to enquiries and suggestions from both inside and outside the Company.
• make this policy available to the public.
